Erm, nope. Is that only 1 death…on record? Why the hell is it so close to the road?

It is a man made drain for the lake. What you don’t see in the video is the dam that’s built off to the side. So when the reservoir gets too high, it’ll dump some of the water out of the dam below to lower the water level

I have a major irrational fear of spillways. I’ve never seen one in person, the pictures are terrifying enough.

    4. I used to live close to there and grew up water skiing and fishing that lake. I’ve seen it spill over a couple times, and when those hills were on fire. Cool place.

    5. Now that’s a fucking badass water tube slide like at a waterpark/theme park….just on a waaaaay larger/more dangerous level 😳

How has The Fast and The Furious franchise not filmed a car jumping into it while drag racing a submarine and dodging helicopter machine guns?

    7. There are very few things I’m irrationally afraid of, those things are one. How is there not a giant fence or something? Edit, it looks like there is a floating barrier.

I grew up very near this, and for my entire life since I first saw it, I have had recurring nightmares about getting sucked into it.

    10. I’m a local. We used to skate the out flow pipe when I was a kid. Never heard it called morning glory hole, just the glory hole.
